The Middle Leaders Certificate in Education is a nationally recognised development programme designed for aspiring and current middle leaders who want to deepen their impact, sharpen their leadership skills, and drive subject-specific excellence within their schools.

Combining expert-led training with practical, school-based application, the programme equips participants with the knowledge, confidence, and tools needed to lead teams and improve outcomes.

The programme is delivered through a blend of taught sessions, applied projects, coaching, and workplace learning. Key areas of focus include:

  • Curriculum Leadership - Deep dives into subject-specific leadership and curriculum design

Eligibility Criteria


To participate in the programme, you must:

  • Be a leader within your organisation either recently appointed or just stepping into the role
  • Have lived in the UK/EEA for the past 3 years and work mainly in England
  • Be employed in a school and have the support of your Principal
  • Hold an employment contract covering the full programme (17 months)
