Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship

This is a fully-funded 15-month programme designed to equip Practitioners with the essential knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to foster continuous improvement in their Academies through the development of teaching and learning.  It is a Level 4 Lead Practitioner apprenticeship qualification. 

The focus is on developing teaching and learning using a variety of tools and techniques, including project management tools to ensure that student outcomes, teacher development, and learning culture are consistently improved. Practitioners will develop the ability to lead change initiatives, support teachers, and make data-driven decisions to enhance educational quality and student success.

Requirements
  • Current Middle or Senior Leaders (with Principal approval).
  • UK/EEA Resident for at least 3 years.
  • Working at least 16 hours per week.
Funding Eligibility

This programme is fully funded by the ESFA (Education and Skills Funding Agency). There are rules that govern eligibility. If you find you do not meet one or more of the eligibility questions, please get in touch with the Apprenticeship team Apprenticeships@harrisinstitute.org.uk

Participation in this programme is subject to Headteacher approval.  In-person training sessions are mandatory in order to gain the qualification.

  • Teaching and Learning leadership: Upskilling practitioners with the latest research in educational theory and techniques, such as cognitive science and lead implementation change projects.
  • Effective Lesson observations: To know how to conduct a lesson observation and series of learning walks and use data analysis and process mapping techniques to identify and address barriers to learning.
  • Leading Teaching and Learning: Learn the principles of a cycle of evaluation when leading teaching and learning in a team.
