Portal Trust Funding for Harris Alumni

We’re delighted to share that the Harris Federation has been awarded generous funding to support more Harris alumni to become teachers - and applications are now OPEN! 

Teaching is one of the most powerful and rewarding careers in which you can see the direct impact of your work with young people and you’re able to harness your passion for a subject to inspire the next generation. Thanks to the generous support of the Portal Trust, this funding has been created to help remove financial barriers and open the door for more Harris alumni - particularly those from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds - to step into the classroom. 

If you’ve been considering a career in teaching but are concerned about the costs, this opportunity is for you. Successful applicants can receive up to £5,000 to support them throughout their training year. This funding can help cover essential expenses such as: 

• Travel and transport 
• Relocation costs (where applicable) 
• Professional clothing 
• Training resources and other associated costs
