Register your ECTs

The first step to register an ECT with our Appropriate Body is to click HERE to register them on the ECT Manager portal.

Schools will be charged £495 per ECT for the two-year induction period.  For further information about our AB charges, please click here.

If you are new to working with us, if you would like support with registering on ECT Manager, you can access the step-by-step guide on how to register your school and new users.  Alternatively, if you would like support from our AB Central team, please contact AB@HarrisInstitute.org.uk  or contact the team on 01375 484582.

Please note, as well as registering for induction with an appropriate body via ECT Manager, ECTs must be registered with a delivery partner for access to an Early Career Teacher Programme. Registration with an Appropriate Body via ECT Manager is a separate process to signing up for the ECT programme (ECTP). Harris Institute uses NIoT to deliver their ECTP. For more information about using NIoT's Early Career Teacher Training programme, please visit the website here or contact ECF@Harrisinstitute.org.uk if you would like guidance on how to register for the ECTP.

The table below presents six distinct induction start points spread across the academic year. These multiple entry points offer flexibility for schools and settings to align induction with staffing needs, term structures, and individual circumstances. Crucially, each start point ensures that Early Career Teachers (ECTs) begin their Early Career Framework (ECF) training at the start of a module, rather than partway through, supporting a coherent and well-structured learning experience. The availability of multiple start points also helps accommodate varied recruitment timelines and ensures that statutory induction requirements are met without compromising the quality or continuity of professional development.

The DfE state: “Schools are encouraged to choose their local teaching school hub for Appropriate Body services, unless they have specific reasons to access these services from another Appropriate Body.”

If your school is located outside of our designated region, please contact your local Teaching School Hub/AB first to notify them of your reasons for requesting to work with us. Reasons why we may agree to work with your school include being part of an affiliated MAT that has schools located in one of our Hub regions, or being situated a short distance from the TSH or within the same Local Authority. We abide by the Teaching School Hub Council Code of Conduct and will not advertise our services beyond our Hub regions and will redirect requests to the relevant TSH. Please visit the DfE for a full list of all appropriate bodies
